1st International Resonating Body Online Competition for Flutists

The 1st International Resonating Body Online Competition is not about perfection or virtuosity – it’s about connection. We are looking for musicians who play with freedom, presence, and authenticity – where body, mind, and sound come together in harmony.
The competition is open to flutists of all nationalities and ages.
Categories
Young Artists (14–17 years)
Young Professionals (18–25 years)
Amateur (18+ years)
Creative Choice (open category – improvisation, crossover, unusual repertoire)
Improvisations (solo or with playback): Crossover projects (jazz, pop, folk, world music, electronic, experimental), Unusual or rarely performed repertoire, Multidisciplinary performances (e.g., flute with dance, spoken word, or visuals)

Evaluation Process
The audition will be evaluated based on video materials submitted by each participant. The judging panel will score the video material, and the final results will be determined solely based on these recordings.
How To Participate
- Record a video (5–10 minutes) with two different pieces of your own choice. These will be valid for both the preliminary and final round. The video must be unedited.
- Record a short video (2 minutes) introducing yourself, sharing your motivation, and explaining why you chose your two pieces.
- Upload both videos unlisted to YouTube and include the links in your application.
- Submit your completed application form to info@resonatingbodyacademy.de, including:
- Copy of passport
- Photo
- Receipt of payment of the application fee
- Links to your YouTube videos
Repertoire Requirements
- Classical repertoire (Baroque, Classical, Romantic…)
- Personal arrangements are also accepted
Timeline
- Application Deadline: 15 November 2025
- Announcement of Finalists: 1 December 2025
- Announcement of the Winners: 15 December 2025
The winners will be chosen exclusively based on the submitted recordings.

A professional photo shoot with Victor Martini:
Photoshoot in Venice during the masterclass in Venice 2026 (Winners are responsible for obtaining necessary travel/accommodation etc)
Interview Feature
Interview Feature – A portrait or interview of one winner will be published on the Resonating Body Academy website and in our newsletter, giving young musicians valuable visibility and reach.
Collaboration Opportunity
The chance to perform a duet or chamber music work with Katharina and Christiane Martini, either online or at a Resonating Body Academy event.
Social Media Takeover
Winners will have the opportunity to take over the Resonating Body Academy Instagram Stories for one day, sharing their music, practice insights, and artistic journey with our community.
3x 90 minutes Yoga for Musicians with Saskia Worf
Winners of this special prize will have the opportunity to experience a personalized Yoga for Musicians 1:1 session. In these sessions with Saskia Worf (flutist, educator, and certified yoga teacher) musicians can develop strength, flexibility, and body awareness – all tailored to their instrument and daily routine.
Additional awards may be granted at the discretion of the Artistic Director.

Our Mission
Our competition aims to encourage musicians to perform, grow, and discover their authentic resonance. Beyond technical skill, we value artistry, charisma, presence, and resonance. We want to support musicians in building confidence, exploring their personal sound, and sharing it with the world.
Rules & Regulations
- Incomplete applications or missing fee payments will result in disqualification.
- Application materials will not be returned. Application fees are non-refundable.
- The jury’s decisions are final and not subject to appeal. Jury scores or comments will not be disclosed.
- By applying, participants consent that the Resonating Body Academy may share their submitted videos and photos on its own or partner social media channels, website etc.
- Winners of partial scholarships for 2026 masterclasses are responsible for all additional expenses (rest of the course fee, travel, accommodation, meals, extra activities, etc.).
- Participants under 18 years of age must provide parental/legal guardian consent and remain under their supervision throughout their participation.
- The International Resonating Body Competition for Flutists reserves the right to make changes to rules, schedule, or other competition details if necessary.
- The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any applicant found to be:
- violating competition rules or policies,
- tampering with the entry process or submitted materials,
- acting in an unsportsmanlike, disruptive, or disrespectful manner toward other participants, the jury, or the organizers.
- The organizers are not responsible for any technical issues, internet problems, or video/audio quality problems during submission or evaluation.
- Any taxes, customs duties, or additional costs related to the prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners.
- Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash. If a prize cannot be redeemed due to travel restrictions, visa issues, or personal reasons, no alternative will be provided. The Resonating Body Academy reserves the right to substitute any prize with one of equal or greater value if necessary.
- By submitting their application, participants consent that the personal data provided (including passport copy, photo, contact details, and video links) will be collected and processed solely for the purposes of organizing and evaluating the International Resonating Body Competition. The data will not be shared with third parties outside the organization. All data will be stored securely and deleted after the competition has ended, unless legal obligations require longer storage.
- By applying, participants agree to receive updates and information regarding the Resonating Body Competition via email. If participants also wish to receive regular newsletters and offers from the Resonating Body Academy, they can indicate this consent on the application form. Consent can be withdrawn at any time by unsubscribing.
